Seeing that we live in cold, rainy Seattle, the weather is the most attractive thing to me right now. Both my husband are beach people and it has been a long time since we have been on any vacation.

We would LOVE whale watching, kayak fishing (for the hubby), but mostly just the beach. It would be wonderful just to have a few days to relax, that doesn't happen often enough!

I love the whale watching. I grew up in San Diego and never got to see the migrating whales!
I would love to try stand up paddle boarding. I think my boys would love it too!
Our family moved from So Cal to Idaho in 2008, and the two things we miss the most (besides friends) is the beach and the restaurants. So we'd love to soak up the sun at the beach and try some restaurants (21 Oceanfront Restaurant looks like it would make the perfect date).

The beach! A couple years ago we went to San Diego. My kids would have been completely happy skipping Sea World and the Zoo and spending every waking minute at the beach. The Coron Del Mar beach looks like a FABULOUS place to set up camp for a few days and let these poor land locked children have fun!
Can't beat the beach itself! Love Crystal Cove for exploring with the kids!

As a young teen I grew up reading the Robin Jones Gunn "Christy Miller" book series! In the book the young teen visits her wealthy Aunt and Uncle who live in Newport Beach each summer! She meets new people, has many new experiences, and grows with her summers and time in Newport Beach! Ever since reading the books it has been a dream to go to the area. My favorite places to visit would be Fashion Island, the Farmers Market and then also take the Balboa Island Ferry to Balboa Island to ride bikes and get a Balboa Bar.
My boys would get a kick out of whale watching. And of course, playing on the beach!!

I grew up very close to Newport Beach & miss it tremendously. If I had a chance to go back, I'd munch a frozen banana on the boardwalk, take a whale watching cruise, and be sure to have a shake at Ruby's on the pier!
We were just watching a video of our last trip to the beach...THREE YEARS AGO! I was just pricing flights!! I would have to say that the 10 miles of Orange County beach would be the best part of the vacation! And my kids would want to stop by the Balboa Fun Zone!
I can't decide between restaurant week and the beaches! I'm a foodie and there's plenty of eating to choose from!

Newport Beach is awesome! Tons of great things to do, but nothing better than jumping in the push bikes with my family of four and peddling throught the Newport Beach Balboa Pier and riding the ferry!

Oh I know exactly what ammenities I'd like....anything with water and plenty of it. Being forced into leaving So. Cal after living there my entire life, I miss the luxury of going to the beach whenever I wanted.
