Be Awesome Today Print

Now... I'll be the first to admit that I'm no where near ready to be thinking about Back to School. The thought of school clothes shopping makes me break out in hives. (haha.) But we know a lot of your kids head back a lot earlier than ours do so we want to make sure you are prepared ahead of time with some fun Back to School Printables!

We thought this print would be a fun reminder to be AWESOME on their first day of school. Set it out on the kitchen table that morning for breakfast... or print smaller versions to slip in their lunch box.

School Supplies Organizer

today we want to share with you our school supplies organizer.

I've often found that when we're organized and have a homework spot set up... homework time goes a lot smoother at our house. So we put together a school supply organizer than can be hidden behind a pantry or bedroom door, but can hold just about anything and everything a kid could need to complete their homework!

school supplies organizer

you'll need...
a shoe organizer that hangs over the door
the Fill This Spot tag download found here

cardstock
paperclips or clothespins
school supplies

trim the cardstock to 3.5 x 4.25. center the "fill this spot" tag on the bottom half of the cardstock and fold the excess over the organizer sleeve. attach with paperclips or clothespins.

fill each sleeve with all of those necessary school supplies. then label each of your tags... that way your kids know where to return the supplies when they're done with them.

here's a list of supplies you might want to add to your organizer:
pencils • pens • crayons • markers • colored pencils • glue • glue sticks • glue dots • calculator • ruler • erasers • paper clips • stapler • staples • pencil sharpener • hole punch • index cards • scissors • highlighters • dry erase markers • paints •
maybe a row of after-school snacks??

School Memorabilia Frames

We are memory keepers in our house and it's always
extra fun when you can display those memories all year long.

With the help of Michaels... we had fun putting together a School Memorabilia Frame.

Supplies: (all found at Michaels)
• 12" x 12" Shadow Box
• 12" x 12" Natural Cork Tiles
• white spray paint (or whatever color you like)
• Tacky Glue

We spray painted our frame and let it dry.
The Cork Tiles come in packs of 4 - so we glued 2 down in the bottom of the frame with the tacky glue.
Then we printed off the School Info Cards and filled them out.
You can download your own cards HERE.

To make the Vintage Clip Thumb Tacks we simply used some E-6000 and glued a thumb tack to the back of each of the Vintage Clips.

Then fill your box full of keepsakes and memorabilia through out the school year!

A couple things to remember about Michaels...

• Michaels offer a 15% discount for teachers every day.

• If you need a large quantity of one back to school item, but don't see enough on the shelves, Michaels offers a bulk ordering program where you can order as many supplies as you need and save up to 20%.

• Download the Michaels app so that you will always have the latest deals and coupons at your fingertips.

Teacher Questionnaire

It's hard to believe that summer is already over for some of you. Thankfully we have a couple weeks left and we hope to squeeze in as much fun as possible.

We are starting to prepare for the anticipated First Day of School though.
This year we decided we'd send a paper in for our teachers to fill out... I mean come on...  they send enough home for us to fill out each year. :)

Good news for them though... this worksheet will just make it that much easier for us to give gifts throughout the year that they really like and can use.

• Download the Getting To Know You Questionnaire HERE

Does anyone else get a little overwhelmed with all those
papers that get sent home on the first day?  :)

smart cookie {download}

with you as my teacher
i'll be one SMART COOKIE!

on one of my recent trips to einstein bagels, i noticed that they now have chocolate chunk cookie poppers in those cute plastic cups. i thought it would be a yummy little gift to send in with my kids for the first day of school. of course, i'll have to go back and get more, because these cookies will not last in my house and we still have a couple weeks until school starts.

---  you can find the tag download HERE ---
i printed it out on patterned paper and cut out each tag, making horizontal slits in the bottom and punching a hole in the top. rubbed an old ink pad around the edges and tied them on with ribbon.

(don't those cookies look delicious?)

you could also:
wrap the tags around a pouch of cookie mix and include a little spatula
or
simply attach it to a plate of your best homemade cookies
